Jimeng carbon 120000 ton ultra-high power graphite electrode series product project is located in Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia. It is a key project invested by Zhongze group with 2.4 billion yuan in combination with the development status, market prospect, resource allocation and related industries of carbon industry. It is also one of the key construction projects in Ulanqab City. It will promote the leapfrog development of economy in Ulanqab region, It plays an important role in leading the revitalization of China's carbon industry. Governments at all levels in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Ulanqab city have always attached great importance to the construction of Jimeng carbon project. On March 10, Shi Taifeng, Secretary of the Party committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and director of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, went deep into Ulanqab city to investigate the construction of key projects, paid great attention to the commencement and resumption of work of Jimeng carbon, and stressed the need to actively and orderly promote the resumption of work and production, strengthen efforts to speed up the progress of project construction while paying close attention to the prevention and control of the epidemic situation, We will spare no effort to organize and strive for double victories in epidemic prevention and control and economic development.
Shi Taifeng went deep into Jimeng carbon production and construction site to observe the project progress and production operation. He went into the workshop, looked at the products, asked about the technology, and learned more about the project construction progress, enterprise production and operation, product market prospect, etc. He stressed that the epidemic prevention and control of enterprises should not be relaxed. At present, the 80000 ton graphite electrode project of Jimeng carbon phase I was started in April 2018, and the roasting process was successfully ignited and put into operation in December of the same year. Two roasting furnaces were put into operation in only eight months, creating a rapid progress in the construction and operation of large-scale ultra-high-power graphite electrode products with large volume, high quality and high efficiency in the industry. At present, Jimeng carbon is promoting the specific construction tasks of each link according to the four processes of molding, roasting, graphitization and machining required for the production of graphite electrode. It is planned to achieve a production capacity of 80000 tons by the end of the year. After the completion of the project, the carbon sector of Zhongze group will form an annual production capacity of 180000-220000 tons of graphite electrodes, and its leading position and comprehensive strength in the carbon industry will be greatly improved.
